30 Rock

- I think you wanted us to see this episode of 30 Rock, because it was very relevant to racism and prejudice, which are topics we have been working on in class. In this episode we get to see a good example of prejudice. Liz, which is one of the main characters in this series, believes that the new neighbour is a terrorist, because he is from the Middle East and acts a little strange. Even if one were to believe that there was no difference between races and racism in 2012, it is still quite a lot. Many people might believe that Liz over reacted, but the Americans are very sensitive in this area because of the 9/11 attack, were al-Qaida sent a series of four coordinated suicide attacks on the USA.

- I’m quite sure of that the whole class agrees on that there is a limit on when to use humour on sensitive topics. To use humour on such topics makes them more daily based, sometimes it’s better to not take everything so serious. Several people choose to be active if we make it fun, rather than boring and complicated, humour attracts more people, and even more become aware of it, even the youth.

OPPGAVE C

Hun her glad og livlig konstant.

a) Mikal er svært interessert i musikk.

Oppgave A: Forstørre øyeblikk

Why I love sports

Sports are a huge part of my life. Excitement, joy, passion and loyalty. These are all word of what sports mean to me.

For us who play sports, and those who like to watch, the sport world is our own community. Sports bring us together. Our everyday life would have been less exciting and much more miserable without sports, this is only my opinion, but I’m pretty sure that there are lots of people who agree with me. We all feel that we’re a part of something, which is a really great feeling

Being a part of a team is so much fun, we are like a family. Not only do we play together, but we also travel, go through better and worse. There’s no better shoulder to cry on, than a teammate when/if we lose a big game.

Everyone can do sports, it doesn't matter if you're good or bad. We humans tend to like people who are like ourselves, so if we have the same hobbies, there’s nothing to complain about.

Let’s not forget another important reason why we all love sports, it’s a great work out, and we don’t even notice that we’re working our buts of, because we are having so much fun while we're doing it. This is something great, because we often get exhausted of just the thought of working out, so when we’re a part of a team and our attendance at all sessions are obligated, there’s not much you can do, even the days when you’re not motivated. You have to go!

Kvelden i ditt liv!

Kvelden i ditt liv, liv liv

Kvelden i ditt liv, liv liv

The sky is the limit!

Bildeanalyse

Engelsk: teacher quit

o Why did Dr. Learoyd quit his job?

- Because he refused to teach where they’d be the content of somebody's wallet

o What is your opinion of this decision?

- I believe that his choice was a mind opener for the English school system, and that they should cut their prices, so that more people could go to the university, although they’re not rich. It was a very brave choice. Most people would probably think that the prices were ridiculous, while this guy fought the case

Could this happen in Trondheim? In Oslo? Why/why not?

- Of course this could happen in Oslo and Trondheim, but it’s not as likely as in London. It’s not as many people here in little Norway, as in other big countries or cities.

Last morning in Toronto, Canada!

Dear diary, 26.july 2010

Well, this is it. Goodbye Canada!

I have a little time to spare before we’re heading to the airport, so thought I chould write little in my journal. Just wanted to say that I had such a fun time, and I'll definitely come back to Canada. What an exciting place. This has been three wonderful days, which I will not forget.

Day 3 in Toronto,Canada!

Dear diary, 25.july 2010

Oh my god! No words can explain how exhausted I am right now, earlier today I caught up with Jane (do you remember that I mentioned that I was meeting her while I was here in Toronto?) anyway, I met her at a cafeteria, and we talked for almost two hours. After our long stay on the cafeteria, we shopped for hours at the Vaughan Mills. It is absolutely fantastic range of shops here (imagine me in heaven, hehe) the only drawback is the insanely long queues, but it was all worth it.

Later tonight my family and I are attending at a baseball game, and I’m actually excited. This is a bit strange, because I don’t understand the game. The baseball game is probably the last fun thing we’re going to do, before we pack our stuff and head back to Norway first thing to morrow.

No I’m going to enjoy my last night here in Toronto, I’ll write more when I’m back in little Norway.

Day 2 in Toronto,Canada!

Dear diary, 24.july 2010

Oh my god, it is amazing here. I love it!

Toronto is actually quite similar to Norway, except that they speak English, and it is a little nicer here.

Very pretty, as you can see on the pictures.

What we did today was so artist

ic and exciting! My little brother plays hockey, therefore it’s great that we’re in Canada, which is the home country of hockey. That is also one of the reasons why we went to vi

sit The Maple Leafs Gardens today, which is Toronto’s maple leafs stage (Toronto’s official hockey team) they now play their home games at the Air Canada Centre, at Bay and the Lakeshore. But they used to play their home games at Maple Leaf Garden

s, at Church and Carlton. After we had seen around, we went to the shop were they sold supporter equipment, and if you know me well, you probably know that I’m the all-time tourist. So I had to live up to that and bought myself a jersey! Too bad that it’s the end of the season.

We also went to see the famous CN tower today. DAMN, it is insanely high. Dad said something about 554 meters. I have NEVER seen such a high building in my life before, it’s amazing. I really wonder how they managed to build it.

Mom nags at me about hurrying up no, because we’re about to go out and eat, and I’m still writing here. I’ll write more for you tomorrow.

Day 1 in Toronto,Canada!

Dear diary 23.july 2010

Today my family and I landed at Toronto Pearson Airport, in Canada. We landed quite late, so we did not get much spare time, because the flight was insanely long. We checked in at The Hilton hotel, which is located in the down town area, in the financial district. We were hungry when we got to the hotel, so we went out to search for somewhere to eat. We didn’t find anything attractive in the area, seeing as we were surrounded by bankers and bars, so we continued walking until we reached Chinatown. There we found a great restaurant; the King’s Noodle House! Man, was that good! That was the only we managed to see of the city, before we went to bed.

I’ll write more for you tomorrow.

The day before Canada!

Dear diary 22.july 2010

I look forward to tomorrow, because we’re going to Canada. It will be so much fun! We are only in Toronto for four days, because we’ve been in the U.S. for such a long time, and Mom and Dad need to go back to work. I am actually visiting one of my best friends in Canada, Jane Francis. She is also in Toronto, visiting her family. I look forward to meeting her again. I’ve really looked forward to the Canada trip, and I’ve found a lot of facts. Hihi.

One of the facts was that that the Canadian flag is known as “The Maple Leaf”, and the flag consists of a white center field with a stylized 11-slot maple leaf on a red background, but you probably knew that. Before this flag was used, there were three others.

Well; this was it, and I’ll write more for you tomorrow.

Norsk: Tavle

TAVLER

English: Blood Diamond

Last week we saw "Blood Diamond" at school, wich was a very good movie in my opinion. A real mind awakens. The movie actually shows how well we has it here, in Norway and other countries. And you might think twince next you buy a diamond.
